This July, many members of the Savannah campus Christian Medical Association at Mercer Medicine are planning their fourth annual Medical Mission Trip to Guaimaca, Honduras to help Hospital Bautista. Last year, our team of 30+ medical students and physicians saw over 2,000 patients, completed over 20 surgeries, and provided clean water for the community of Guaimaca Honduras. We plan to do the same this upcoming year and need your support! All proceeds from the Tybee Beach Run will off-set the cost of transportation and supplies for the trip. We look forward to the many opportunities this trip has for ministry and hands-on medicine.
Info on Guaimaca, Honduras and Hosptial Bautista
Guaimaca, Honduras is located northeast of Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras. The rural town of Guaimaca has a population of around 25,000, with another 300,000 living in the surrounding mountains. The heart of the Guaimaca Ministry is the Baptist Hospital, which provides daily clinic care and life-saving surgeries for the poor from all over Honduras. But the hospital also serves as a hub for other ministries such as food and water distribution, mountain medical brigades, vacation bible schools, construction, and evangelism. After 5 days of providing care to the villages and performing surgeries on campus, our team will visit the affiliated orphanage and schools. This trip not only gives aspiring physicians experience one would expect to receive in later years of medical school, but allows each member to be the hands and feet of Christ to the people of Honduras.

So, please consider being an integral part of our team, by supporting us financially. We truly appreciate your continued support for the past three years.
