No Boundaries: Beginner 5K Training

The No Boundaries Training Program is a 8 week program which meets two/three times a week. This program focuses on beginners, but all levels of runners and run/walkers are welcome! This program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first 5K or can help existing walker/runners meet new performance goals. This program will educate on hydration and nutrition techniques, body awareness, choosing the right gear and avoiding injury. You can do this!

No Boundaries meets twice a week. The workouts will last about a half hour to an hour as we increase mileage throughout the season. In addition to the workouts there are weekly newsletters to keep you up to date, group support, free injury clinic through Ledesma Sports Medicine, and expert coaching to inspire and motivate you on this training journey. Plus the camaraderie of others just like you!

This program is made for beginners or those wanting to start running or run/walking again. There are no requirements to join. We just ask that you start No Boundaries injury-free! Participants can be under 18; a parent/guardian must be a registered participant of the program as well. It is a safe, welcoming place for you to get fit, make friends, and have fun! Fleet Feet Sports Savannah encourages you to exercise at your own comfortable pace and we are focused on YOUR success! Our past groups of No Boundaries participants had fun, enjoyed the challenges, lost weight, gained confidence and made new friends. And most are still running- some increasing their distance, getting faster, staying fit and smiling!

No Boundaries has three different training plans based on your goals. You may always switch back and forth between groups based on how you feel and if you find the plan too easy or too hard.

  • Beginner Walk/Run Plan: Anyone that has been active and wants to introduce running into their workout plan
  • Intermediate Walk/Run Plan: Anyone that has been active with cardio, possibly done some running, and wants to incorporate longer run intervals into their workout
  • Run Plan: Anyone that has currently been running, or has a history of running and is doing a consistent cardio program

The training schedule starts at smaller mileages and builds over the course of the program. It will never change suddenly or dramatically and you will always be well prepared for any increase distance.
