Make It a Mile is a four-week walking/running program designed to help beginners take the first steps to getting healthy by completing one mile. The program includes a safe, guided training plan designed to allow you to work at your own pace in a non-threatening, non-judemental environment. At the end of the four weeks, you'll be able to complete one mile with a healthy, happy, and strong feeling. This is a beginner walking or walk/run program but can also be used to get a little extra distance before our No Boundaries or WalkFIT 5K programs.
Make It a Mile meets once a week. These workouts will last between twenty to forty five minutes. In addition to the workouts there are weekly newsletters to keep you up to date, group support, free injury clinic through Ledesma Sports Medicine, and expert coaching to inspire and motivate you on this training journey. Plus the camaraderie of others just like you!
Make It A Mile details:
There are no requirements to join this program. We just ask that you start Make It A Mile injury-free. Participants can be under 18; a parent/guardian must be a registered participant of the program as well.
Make It A Mile has two different training plans: run/walk plan or walk only plan. You may always switch back and forth between the two groups based on how you feel and if you find the plan too easy or too hard.
