Can you feel it? It’s a certain feel to the skin, a feeling to the lungs, more energy when you run, fall is here, and with it some of the best workouts you will have all year long; it’s just that time. As we leave the heat of summer and move into the cool air of fall, this not only makes you feel stronger, but it makes all those summer miles worth it! Also, for those of you that wear heart rate monitors or if you notice that your heart rate is not as high, the cool weather helps immensely. Have a good time in it, enjoy every bit of it, and use this time wisely to get your longer miles in. Remember during the summer I said quality over quantity? Well now is the time as the weather starts cooling to think about quantity, but don’t lose the quality of your workouts.
Don’t forget about the Trick or Trot run this Saturday on Wilmington Island. Here is a chance for you 10K enthusiasts to test your 10K endurance before the Bridge Run. Although there are no hills at the Trick or Trot, you can find a 10K range of time for yourself, then run the Bridge Run 10K and see what affect the bridge has on your 10K time. The Trick or Trot also has a 5K so there is something for everyone. Of course there is a costume contest involved, why do you ask? It's Halloween!!!!!! Come dressed up as your favorite ghoul, goblin or character. Sign up now for Trick or Trot brought to by the Savannah Sunrise Rotary Club.
