"My all time favorite race is the Savannah Mile.  I have said this many times and I will say it again, this is the hardest mile I have ever run.  This is not a mile against other runners' times.  No, this mile is about meeting and/or beating your personal goal pace.  Also, this race supports the 200 Club which in turn supports local families of our firefighters and police officers who have fallen in the line of duty.  There is nothing more inspiring than watching the families of the fallen march that one solitary mile in memory and honor of their loved ones." ~Nancy Mauldin
