| Race Proceeds | Proceeds from the Go Green 5K Trail Run/Walk will benefit the Chatham County Resource Protection Commission (CCRPC), a local land conservation organization. The money will go towards purchasing ecologically important properties within Chatham County and creating public recreational opportunities within these properties when appropriate. The location of the race, the Whitemarsh Preserve, is jointly protected and managed by the CCRPC and the County! | ||

| Details | There will be music, food, a raffle, and kid’s activities during and after the race until 11:30am. These activities are free and we welcome anyone to join whether or not they participated in the run/walk. Children under 10 years of age race/walk for free (t-shirts for kids will be $10 at the event). Jogging strollers are welcome! Parking for the race will be at the office parking lots located at the corner of U.S. 80 and Bryan Woods Rd. across from Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House. | ||
| Race Course | The race will take runners through the wooded Whitemarsh Preserve, along its natural dirt trails and its paved multi-user path and new bridge. The race begins within the property’s open field and after a brief run through the woods, the course heads south on the Preserve’s new paved multi-user path, parallel to Bryan Woods Rd. At the corner of Bryan Woods Rd. and Johnny Mercer Blvd., the course heads west along the paved path parallel to Johnny Mercer Blvd. At the entrance to the Whitemarsh Preserve, the course follows the dirt road north into the property until it hits the natural dirt trail within, which will bring runners back to the paved path parallel to Johnny Mercer. The course finishes by running north along the path beside Bryan Woods Rd. and back to the field where the race began. | ||
