We are always looking for great additions to our team!
Fleet Feet Employment Criteria
Are you right for us? Are we right for you? Test yourself with these questions:
Are you passionate about running and fitness?
At Fleet Feet we understand and identify with the goals and aspirations of our customers. We want to be able to chat with them about races we've done, injuries we've had, and our passion for running and lifetime fitness.
Do you have sales sense?
We are here to make our customers happy and comfortable with their fitness activities. We love to educate them on our products, from shoe technology to the importance of carrying a hydration pack. You should be comfortable (even passionate and excited!) about suggesting items people might enjoy.
Are you good at switching gears?
If you are busy with stocking, cleaning, or reorganizing the store, when a customer walks through the door your focus has to switch 100% to friendly, knowledgeable customer service, even if you are behind in your other tasks.
Can you stay calm and friendly under pressure?
Imagine working with two customers at the same time while two more customers are waiting. They all deserve the same level of attention and care, and expect you to be friendly and attentive. Things can get very busy here and there is always something to be done.
Are you a team player?
Fleet Feet is like a family and we work closely with each other, sometimes under stress or with other things on our minds. But no matter what's going on in your week, your team members will be counting on you to be here when your shift starts. We all depend on each other and support each other. You need to be respectful and patient, and you need to pull your own weight.
Are you willing to learn?
We are the FIT experts. "FIT" does not just refer to shoes but to all of our products and services. We expect you to be educated about our products, so that you can deliver the level of service our customers have come to expect. We'll help you, but it will be up to you to ask questions and take the time to learn.
Do you sweat the small stuff?
It's the thoughtful little touches that make a "specialty" store special, like remembering customers names and what type of shoe they wear. Going the extra mile for a customer by staying open late or rush shipping them a pair of socks before a big race is what sets us apart from everyone else. Fun little extras go a long way and will make your job worth the effort.
Are you available on Saturdays?
In this business, Saturdays are a very important day so you must be available to work when needed.
If you answered "yes" to these questions, please download an employment application and bring it by the store or email it to email@example.com. If you have a resume please also include it with the application. We look forward to hearing from you!
