A couple of years ago Tim and Nicole DeBoom were our special guests at the Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run and we enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed ours. Tim DeBoom Iron Man Champion and Nicole DeBoom owner and President of Skirt Sports were so impressed by Savannah and all it had to offer, I am pleased to announce that on October 31st 2009 Halloween evening on Hutchinson Island that one of six Skirt Chaser events in the Country will take place in Savannah Georgia.

The Skirt Chaser 5K series are now in Tempe Arizona, Raleigh North Carolina, Chicago Illinois, Denver Colorado, Austin Texas, and NOW! Savannah Georgia, replacing the event in Orange County California.

What is the Skirt Chaser 5K? The actual race will be a 5K course incorporating the race course on Hutchinson Island; the 5K will start and finish in Bryan Square between the Westin and the Trade Center, featuring live music and a block party. The women will start first in a “Catch Me” wave, and the men will start three minutes later, in the “Skirt Chaser” wave. First athlete to cross the finish line, male or female, will win $500.00!

It will be a weekend filled with fun and excitement as the Savannah Hilton Head Speed Car Classic will also be taking place that week and weekend on Hutchinson Island.
